JENARD
CARPENTER

Visionary, musician, and worshipper are but a few titles that describe JeNard Carpenter. Born
and raised in Randallstown, MD, at an early age, JeNard found his calling in music and ministry.
He was raised in a musical community and found his start and musical connection to God in the
church. Inspired by his gospel heritage and the unique culture of inner-city living, JeNard formed
the experiences that shaped his unique take on music. At the age of 13, JeNard began serving as
the Musical Director at the Greater Faith Hope United Holy Church of America, and later served
as Musical Director for seven years at Freedom Church (originally New Day Fellowship).
Concurrently, JeNard received a music scholarship and honed his musical craft at the illustrious
Morgan State University under the tutelage and guidance of the late great Dr. Nathan Carter.
During his time leading in the church and studying at Morgan, JeNard unpacked the many layers
of music that would ultimately serve as the foundation for his translation of music and worship.
Following his formal education, JeNard began to expand his musical repertoire and lent his
talents to a bevy of local artists. Those early beginnings afforded him the opportunity to minister
and record with local Washington Metropolitan artists, such as Kevin Terry and Predestined,
Steven McCoy and Greater Purpose, Isaiah Thomas and Elements of Praise, Pentecostal
Churches of Jesus Christ (PCJC) as well as the Life Center Fellowship to name a few. JeNard’s
talents and worship sensibilities have also been sought after by a myriad of national artists. He
has been credited with serving as a background vocalist for many prominent gospel music
favorites, which have included Kim Burrell, Jonathan Nelson, Le’Andria Johnson, JJ Hairston
and Youthful Praise and L. Spenser Smith.
From 2007 to 2014, JeNard served as a member, Praise & Worship Leader, and the Director of
the LFCC Mass Choir at the Love Faith Community Church in Tallahassee, FL. In
conjunction to his ministerial duties, he helped the church receive national acclaim as Regional
Winners of the Verizon Wireless How Sweet the Sound Competition. Following his tenure with
LFCC, JeNard served five years as the Executive Assistant to Bishop L. Spenser Smith at the
Impact Nation Church in Tuscaloosa, AL. Presently, JeNard serves as a member and Worship
Leader at the Ramp Church DMV under the leadership of Bishop S.Y. Younger. In November
2019, JeNard recorded his first live project to be released nationally across multiple streaming
platforms. Entitled, “When Victory Sings”, the project is his unique take on contemporary praise
and worship.
JeNard has a hunger for God, ministry, and personal development. He makes it a personal
mission to avail himself for praise and worship and choir workshops, vocal training, and many
other platforms to share his expertise and abilities with the world.
